The Borough of Caldwell (40.8398° N, 74.2765° W) is 1.2 square miles of attractive residential areas with a main thoroughfare, Bloomfield Avenue, featuring shopping, restaurants, and mass transit that provides easy access to nearby urban areas.

Caldwell is governed by a Mayor and six councilpersons and has a Zillow walk score of 87, a low crime rate, and has been acclaimed as a desirable place in which to live. Caldwell was among New Jersey Monthly’s “16 Small Towns We Love” in 2019, and a 2018 New York Times article called our town "appealing" and "reasonably priced, with a reasonable commute".

Single-family homes in Caldwell could cost up to $1 million but a typical middle-tier residence sells for an average price in the mid $500,000's. The schools are highly rated. The Borough is home to Caldwell University, a private, accredited Catholic institution offering doctoral, master's, and bachelor's degrees.

Caldwell has a place in American history: it is named after James Caldwell, a Presbyterian minister who played a prominent part in the American Revolution.  Caldwell is also the birthplace of Grover Cleveland, who was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States.  President Cleveland's birthplace, a designated historic site, is on Bloomfield Avenue, a short walk from Parkside. The Essex County park, Grover Cleveland Park, located partly in Caldwell, is a delightful 41-acre green area near Parkside that features rolling hills, broad meadows, water features, and walking paths.

Parkside Gardens is located within easy walking distance to Bloomfield Avenue and to Grover Cleveland Park.  Nearby public amenities include county tennis courts, athletic fields, and two community pools, in addition to several houses of worship.
