Board
Parkside's policies are set and administered by our volunteer Board.  The Board members at January 2023 are:
Michael Christiaens, President

Michael assumed the Presidency in 2016.  Under his leadership Parkside has stabilized and improved our finances, launched many improvements to the property, and greatly improved our operations and maintenance.  In his role he also acts as liaison to the Borough of Caldwell, corresponding with and negotiating with the Mayor and Council on matters pertaining to Parkside.  Additionally, Mike oversees the bidding, negotiation, and selection process for contractors with whom we do business.  Mike works as a Market Development Manager for a leading international healthcare and life sciences company.

"Parkside is a great community to be a part of, and it's very rewarding to be part of the progress that we have made with our home over the past few years", says Michael.  "The energy and ideas being brought by our new Board members will surely let us continue that progress into the future."
Sarah Franklin, Vice President

Sarah works as Assistant Planner for a county Department of Planning and Engineering.  She brings to her job in county government years of experience in municipal and land use practices, including site and subdivision planning, tax and easement mapping, and storm water management.  She has a Master of City and Regional Planning, and her role here continues a family tradition of over 80 years of service to the West Essex community.

“My board role is a logical extension of my experience doing investigations, analysis, and research in a government setting”, says Sarah.  “I very much look forward to leveraging that experience here at Parkside.”
Samantha Moore, Secretary

Samantha currently works as a third-grade elementary school teacher.  Samantha has ten years of experience in general education and special education in grades K-6.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education and then a Master’s in special education.  Samantha has been a volunteer Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts for ten years, modeling organization and leadership skills for hundreds of young women.

“Being a teacher and Troop Leader has given me valuable skills in planning and in motivating individuals and teams toward a goal”, says Samantha.  “I will certainly put these skills to good use as a member of Parkside's Board."
Elisa DeMasi, Treasurer

Elisa is a legal professional at a multinational law firm, where she has worked for sixteen years.  Her extensive experience includes real estate, corporate law, and litigation, with particular expertise in researching regulations, laws, and legal articles.  Additionally, she is a coordinator at a local community organization that offers temporary support and services in times of sudden need; she has served the group for eight years.  Elisa is a native of Livingston and has lived at Parkside since 2016.

“My proficiency in real estate, regulations, projects, and law are directly relevant to the issues faced by multi-family communities like ours”, notes Elisa.  “I’m delighted at the opportunity to bring this expertise to Parkside's Board.”
Guy DeMuro, Website Administrator

Guy has served Parkside since 2016, as an ad-hoc contributor, as Secretary, and currently as website administrator.  His decades-long career in the information services industry included management roles in finance, marketing, planning, and operations for two global companies; he currently continues his long-running part-time career in prestige consumer products.

"It is wonderful to see the many improvements and initiatives that our Board has put into place", observes Guy.  "I am happy to be part of our ongoing effort to make Parkside a pleasant and enjoyable place to live."
Board invites all owners to assume a Board position or to lead an ad-hoc project committee for an area, such as beautification, in which they are interested.
